Mountain bike : discovery of Taiwan off road and wilderness
The graveyard area is not very popular, what may be explained by the number of tombs scattered in the place. As an advantage, there is little opportunity to disturb other human beings such as hikers... Moreover there are several potential lines, all of them being more or less invaded by scrub. I found this one could be more interesting, since it is the longest and most homogenous one. Moreover there are really beautiful acacias (Philipinne Acacia) along the way, I seldom saw such old ones.
Last may I cleared some scrub and a couple of shrub in order to ride it a first time from the top down to Dayou Rd. When I returned there today I was amazed to see how high the bush could grow within 4 months of time ! Parts of the trail which were clear are now obstructed by 2 meters-high scrub, especially in the second part. It's compulsory to wear long pants here… So, the main difficulty to ride this route is that sometimes you cannot see anything !
Upwards, the higher part is just a bit too steep to ride uphill in some sections - that would be a good challenge to ride it all ; the lower part is steeper and wilder, no way.

Access 通路: General access : check our map.
On Chenggong road section 3 (桃11), the graveyard route and Taoyuan express starts behind an abandoned building in a sharp turn very close to the 8K sign.
Itinerary 行程: Ride down the track from the 桃11 road, following a large path. Follow the general line of the ridge avoiding the tombs and reach a singletrack on the left side (silvergrass section). This track eventually reaches a large graveyard, avoid it by the right and ride or walk above the graveyard's wall (a fallen tree). Then the track continues to an electric post, then hardly visible through a burnt area. The end of the track being squatted by farmers, it has to be escaped through a bushy hedge. Ride down a couple of lanes and reach the very north of Dayou Rd.
